About

I am a multi-media community artist and teacher. I live and work in Newcastle upon Tyne.

I began working as a freelance community artist from around 2002 after having trained and worked as a secondary school art teacher since 1995.

I devise, manage and facilitate arts sessions, courses or longer projects for people of all ages and abilities.

Formally trained in drawing, painting and printmaking,  my approach to facilitating art projects is multi-layered.

I use a wide range of techniques and enjoy working in various disciplines - I aim to support and inspire you on your creative journey.

  • My style of artwork brings together aspects of story, symbolism, artefact, celebration and nature.

  • My art sessions can be educational, experiential,  therapeutic or a bit of everything.

  • I source and combine different materials  which are interesting to work with to help people create things which are unique and original.

  • I facilitate the making of artworks in both indoors and outdoor environments.

  • I can devise projects which meet learning needs and the school curriculum.

For any project I provide a frame which outlines the whole lifecycle of the project: planning, structure, time schedule, aims and objectives, budget, materials, resources, process, documentation and evaluation.
